Strawberry Shortcake Junk Journal — Cover Embellishments

This is a continuation of my Strawberry Shortcake junk journal build. After getting the base covers wrapped in fabric, it was time to move on to the fun part — decorating.
Cover Embellishments
The next stage was decorating the cover and bringing the Strawberry Shortcake theme to life. I layered different textures to create a soft, playful look that matches the sweetness of the theme. The front features a Strawberry Shortcake image framed with pearl trim, surrounded by lace, ruffles, and gingham fabric.
I also added small dimensional details and embellishments to give the cover texture and depth. These layers help the cover feel more like a keepsake piece rather than just a notebook. Every element was chosen to stay within the pink, red, and strawberry color palette so everything feels cohesive and cheerful.
The spine was kept a little simpler to balance the detailed front, while the closure strap was built into the layers of the cover so the journal can wrap closed securely.
At this stage, the journal cover is complete and ready for the next step: sewing in the signatures and building out the inside pages.
